All You Can Eat at Heinde Hoofddorp – For Those Who Like Plenty and Fast
Score: 7.0
Last Sunday, we visited a new restaurant in Hoofddorp: Heinde. It's an all-you-can-eat concept that you'll find in quite a few cities these days. Recently opened in Hoofddorp too — and it hasn't gone unnoticed, as the place is packed every night despite the holiday season.
The concept is simple: for €42.50, you eat and drink unlimited. That includes beer, wine, and soft drinks; specialty beers come with a surcharge. Ordering is done entirely via your phone: each round, you choose two small dishes and a side. Once everything's served, you can place your next order.
The venue itself is spacious, which makes it a bit noisy, but the décor is pleasant and the chairs are comfortable. The staff is friendly and dishes are served promptly.
We tried various small plates — and to be fair: the portions were decent, the flavours were solid, and the menu is nicely extensive. This is exactly what makes these formats popular with a broad audience.
But as someone who appreciates fine dining, I know this isn't really my scene. Not because there's anything wrong with Heinde — quite the opposite, the concept works well and the place runs like clockwork — but because I prefer a more refined culinary experience.
So: if you're looking for an evening full of choice, convenience, and good vibes, Heinde hits the mark perfectly.
Looking for sophistication and surprising flavours? Then things get a bit trickier in Hoofddorp, unfortunately. Fine dining is scarce here, which is quite remarkable for a town of this size. Hopefully, that'll change in the future — because there's definitely room for culinary growth.
