Sometimes, an unplanned night out turns out to be the best kind — especially when you head to a place you know you can always rely on. Last night, we spontaneously decided to visit Trattoria Buoni Amici in Hoofddorp, and once again, it hit the mark. This Italian trattoria has never let us down — and last night was no exception.

As a starter, I chose the scallop carpaccio, served on a creamy base of white asparagus and surrounded by delicate shrimp. My dinner companion went for the marinated raw salmon, which turned out to be a true explosion of flavour. Both dishes were beautifully balanced and once again showed why Buoni Amici is such a local favourite.

For the main course, I had the perfectly seared duck breast — rich, flavourful, and paired with a refined sauce. My companion opted for the lamb tenderloin, which was tender and full of flavour, accompanied by a well-composed garnish. Every element was spot on.

The chef personally came to our table to explain the dishes and suggested a wonderful wine pairing that matched our choices perfectly. We ended the evening with a non-alcoholic tiramisu and a rich chocolate cake with almond ice cream — a sweet and satisfying close to a lovely evening. Naturally, our desserts were served with a strong espresso.

It’s no surprise this restaurant has held its spot as Hoofddorp’s number one for years. The combination of quality, personal attention, and a consistent focus on flavour makes every visit a pleasure. Buoni Amici remains a top recommendation for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine!
